Echo
Audiovisual installation and print, BE, 2008, loop
A room for listening to images and watching sound, made to measure the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens. Monumental yet intimate, the room envelops the visitor and brings about a singular ‘poétique de l’espace’.
As often in De Clercq’s work, Echo too, is a richly textured investigation of the allegorical tension between inside and outside, real and imaginary (‘virtual’), two- and three-dimensional, immensity and intimacy.
